Here's the roster for this years Smackdown vs Raw and all I got to say that this is a real disapointment. Some of you may have already seen this but I wanted to post this here anyway.
Smackdown Ashley Batista Chavo Guerrero Chris Masters Edge Finlay Gregory Helms Kane Kenny Dykstra Mark Henry Matt Hardy Michelle McCool MVP Rey Mysterio Ric Flair The Great Khali Torrie Wilson Undertaker
Raw Bobby Lashley Candice Michelle Carlito Jeff Hardy John Cena JTG Ken Kennedy King Booker Melina Mickie James Randy Orton Sandman SHAD Shawn Michaels Snitsky Triple H Umaga William Regal
ECW CM Punk Elijah Burke Johnny Nitro Kelly Kelly Marcus Cor Von Sandman
WWE Legends Bret Hart Mick Foley Rick Rude Roddy Piper Steve Austin The Rock
ECW Legends Sabu Terry Funk Tommy Dreamer
Secret Characters JBL Shane McMahon Vince McMahon
Roster for DS Batista Bobby Lashley Carlito CM Punk Edge Finlay Gregory Helms Hardcore Holly Jeff Hardy John Cena Johnny Nitro Kane Ken Kennedy King Booker Randy Orton Rey Mysterio Ric Flair Shawn Michaels Snitsky Triple H Undertaker
Extra Legends for PSP Eddie Guerrero Jim Neidhart Sgt. Slaughter
NOTE: There won't be any downloadable content. That was revealed on IGN. So it looks like we won't have any more superstars that we can download.

However, I don't know if they would even add Joey Mercury since he was released before WrestleMania started and usually the roster would be based between the time WrestleMania starts and the Smackdown after WrestleMania. I don't think he would've made it anyways. THQ really screwed up big time. There's not much tag team in there (no London & Kendrick, Deuce & Domino, Cade & Murdoch or World's Greatest Tag Team), the PSP version has more legends than the rest of the consules and theres no Rob Van Dam. They better not screw up the create a wrestler mode. That's all I can say.

why is there no Londricks or Shelton? I'm even asking the same question as you. I did hear however that the Playstation 3 version will provide downloadable wrestlers. So we could see Londricks & Shelton Benjamin as a few of those wrestlers. I even heard rumors that the X-Box 360 may have that feature too. I'm not sure if the PS2 or the Wii versions will have that feature unfortunately. Oh well, as soon as I find out what the downloadable roster is, I'll make sure that I update the first post add those names there.

I'm also hoping the Wii version would also have that downloadable feature too.
The Playstation 2 version however, the chances of that having the download feature is 0% since they're mainly focusing on the newer consoules.
Like I said, as soon they release anymore info about the downloadable roster, I will update the first post. If they even announce that the 360, Wii or both versions will also have the download feature, I will let you all know about it. Don't count on the PS2 having it though.

You're right about that, Joss. It would be very surprising if they announce that the PS2 will have that feature but it is still just very unlikely. I'm 90% sure the 360 version will have the download feature since both the 360 & PS3 versions are very similar. The Wii however may have a 50-50 chance since it is very different from the other two versions both graphic wise, feature wise and gameplay wise. Plus, THQ are mostly focusing on the other two versions anyways. So it may or may not have it (which I hope it does have it).
Theres also one thing I'm wondering too. You see that the PSP version has three more legends than the other consules right? Do you guys remember from Smackdown vs Raw 2006 when they had Jake "The Snake" Roberts as a PSP exclusive legend but he can be unlocked in the PS2 version by connecting the PSP to the PS2 (or by using a cheat device)? I wonder if they will have that feature for this year and then we can unlock Eddie Guerrero, Jim Neidhart & Sgt. Slaughter in the PS2 and/or PS3 versions.

I'm still deciding either I should pick up the PS2 version or the Wii version since I have both of these systems. It's actually kind of hard for me to pick. If they allow me to unlock Eddie, Neidhart & Slaughter by connecting the PSP to the PS2 (or by using a cheat device), I may get the PS2 version. If they allow me to download wrestlers in the Wii version, I may get the Wii version. I guess I'm gonna have to wait and see.

I don't have online for my Wii yet but I'm thinking about getting it and then we can battle. TPW vs Damian Santania on Smackdown vs Raw 2008 would be a great match. ;D In speaking of the create a wrestler mode, they better not screw it up this year because I really want to create some Nintendo characters again. I've been doing that since Smackdown vs Raw 2006. Well, they said they will have more accessories than they had last year so hopefully it won't be a big disappointment.

I need to get something like that too. All I'm asking right now is how much it's gonna cost me just to play online after I get it all set up?
Joss, don't feel bad about it. I wasn't good at creating characters either until Smackdown vs Raw 2006 came out. It takes a lot of practice and strategies before you could get good at that. And I agree with you when you said that game better kick ass. Remember how outdated the roster looked on Smackdown vs Raw 2006 when they finally announced it two years ago and yet the game itself still kicked ass? I hope something like that happens this year despite how small the roster looks.

well you can connect online without it, we have done it (to get wii updates with wiiconnect24) just with a wi-fi connector the connection will be a lot clearer and better.
